Giovanni Maranghi was born in 1955 in Lastra a
Signa (Fi).
He completed his studies in Florence where he graduated
from the 'L. B. Alberti' Artistic High School
and then enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture.
He alternates his university studies with attending
nude courses at the Academy of Fine Arts. In
those years he attended artists like Primo Conti,
Lucio Venna and Paulo Ghiglia.
At the age of twenty, he presents a personal exhibition
at the San Ferdinando Gallery in Bari.
Among the most important events of these early
years, we remember: Galleria d'Arte Spinetti in
Florence (1982), Galleria Dalders in Amsterdam
(1985), Galleria Diva in Bruxelles (1987).
The 90s opened with the personal exhibition at the
Galleria Nuovo Sagittario in Milan, then he will be
featured in several exhibitions in the United States.
The new century opens with an exhibition at the
Hotel Excelsior in Florence, inspired by the poems
of Fosco Maraini.
In 2001, Mondadori Editore, dedicated to him an
editorial in the periodical 'Arte'.
In the following years he exhibited in Paris, in Siena,
Pietrasanta (Lu), Matera, Florence (inside the
Lorenesi Palazzine on the occasion of 'Pitti Immagine')
and Forte dei Marmi (Lu), in Holland,
France, Russia and the States US. Then, he is at
the Basilica of the SS. Virgin of Carmel in Piacenza,
at the Antico Spedale degli Innocenti in Florence,
again in the United States, in Gothenburg
(Sweden) and in Paris.
Then he is in Monte Carlo during the 69th GP of
Formula 1, with exposure on the yacht 'Planet 125',
he follows the performance inside the department
stores NK of Göteborg and the exhibition in Lajatico
(Pi) at the 'Teatro del Silenzio 2011'.
Following, he exhibited in Berlin, Paris and Montreux
(Switzerland), then in Pontassieve (Fi) and
in Stuttgart (Germany). Still in Gothenburg, then
at Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, in Beijing
with the exhibition 'Capriccio Italiano', in Berlin
then in Stuttgart.
Then a personal exhibition in Stuttgart, through
the Kunstgalerie Bech, inside the prestigious
Schloss Solitude, in Ca' dei Carraresi of Treviso, in
Florence and in Matera.
Among the latest exhibitions, 'Immersione' at
Lu.C.C.A. - Lucca Center of Contemporary Art and
'Ama solo me' at M.A.C. from Milan.
Maranghi lives and works in the province of Florence.
